I think in crafting you learn more or advance your technique more when you make screw ups or at least that is the case for me. I really loved this album when I saw it on Pinterest and decided that I would make myself one. I have attached the link for you to check it out, here it is. /http://www.pinterest.com/pin/128423026847078083/. Anywho, I had plenty of mishaps with my album and I got carried away with the pages. But all and all I love the album and will use it as a journal.

Home Recipe/Memory Album
I love this little album. It was designed to look like a house, as I used 7 Gypsies chipboard that resembled city buildings. I absolutely love that chipboard. I also used the Kitchen Kitsch paper line from the Girl's Paperie. Margie Romney Aslett, the owner of Girl's had a sale on her blog of some of the lines and embellies from Girl's that she had left over, the proceeds benefitted an orphanage she supports. I really lucked out on what I purchased and love this line. I also used some of October Afternoon's Farm Girl line. This is really a fun little album I am not sure if I am going to give it to my mom for recipes or hoard it.
Great K and Company paper finds at Ross and a Mini
Hi all! I know long time no blog, but the summer has been crazy busy. I have also had a lot going around the house. But of course I always have time to bargain hunt and Ross has really had a lot of wonderful K and Company 12 x 12 pads lately for the unbelievable price of $2.99 and $3.99. We all know that these pads are normally upwards of $20.
The pad I used is called Julianne and I love the masculine colors. I wanted to make a mini that looked like an old book your parents may have had in their book case. I used some lace, Eco Crafts' black Paris Ink and some typewriter wooden letters from Oriental Trading Company. I would definitely try this mini again. I have not decorated the inside of the album, but I did place all of the pictures in it. Thanks for looking.

Here's my entry for the Ruby Rock It "What's cooking' good lookin'" contest
This is paper from the My Mind's Eye company and I love that it's called "Celebration Tracker." I used it to document a family thanksgiving. The Ruby Rock It contest was for a craft that celebrated "what's cookin' good lookin'" celebrating their new paper line. The last day to enter is July 13, 2013. I have my fingers crossed I love this company and it's papers and embellies. The other stickers and embellies on the page are Kathy Davis, K and Company and Making Memories. Those cute brads are from Oriental Trading. Thanks for looking. If you have time enter the Ruby Rock It's great contest.

Searching for Cricut Images
I just found a great site that allows you to search for a particular image on a particular cricut cart. For example, I searched for a "file folder" by typing it into the search engine and found out that Graphically Speaking, Sentimentals, From my Kitchen and 1 other cart have that image. Check it out, I think I am in love!!!

Mother's Day Cards
Sometimes, it's possible to get a beautiful card, economically without reinventing the wheel. I purchased these laser cut card bases from Michaels for .50. The other products are jewelry head pins from Michaels purchased on clearance, American Craft Flowers, Verve seam binding and stamp, Petaloo branches and Melody Ross patterned paper.
Teresa Collins Style Mini Albums
I consider Teresa Collins my craft mentor. I had to opportunity in March to go to one of her classes held by EMI Scrapbooking in Cumming. I loved it and won a whole retailers kit there. Take a look at the mini we made in the class. Part of Teresa's allure is that she makes crafting doable and simple but just gorgeous at the same time. Try one of these albums. All we did was fold 12 x 12 pages of paper up to create a pocket. You can decide how big of a pocket you want based on what you are going to place in it, tags, pictures etc. Alternate having your pockets on the inside or outside of the page when you bound your album. We used a Cinch and wire coils. Embellish to your hearts content, don't forget the bling now. Any questions? Thanks for looking at these projects!
My album was made from Echo Park's For the Record Collection. I just love the rich look of the papers and their texture. Because I love the mini so much, I will give you a sneak peek of a few more I made using Teresa's Spring Fling and Fabrications Collections.
Here are the sneak peeks:
